It was just a regular visit but today I learned exactly how grandma and grandpa met and feel in love. Grandpa explained that WWII ended in Aug and he returned home from the war of Dec 7th, 1945 (Pearl Harbor Day). We he got off back to Yakima that day, his sister explained that she planned for them to go to the "Pearl Harbor Dance" and the armory that evening. Grandpa reluctantly agreed to go so his sis only found it fitting that he have a date! On their walk home, my grandpa and crew passed my grandma who was standing waiting for the bus. Being a friend of grandpa's sister, grandma was a perfect fit so grandpa asked her to accompany him on the outing. it was history after that! Grandma explained that he proposed about a year and a half later. The two of them always went out on Saturday nights, so one evening as they were heading out grandma asked grandpa to help her by carrying a package for her. Grandpa responded that he'd carry it for her as long as she carried the tiny box he had for her! :) There was no drop to one knee but grandma must have gotten the clue!
