Family. The people you are willing to put before yourself and who's side you will stand by no matter what. We let our family treat us worse than we would ever put up with from a good friend and make excuses for their faults that we otherwise would never let ourselves be around. And why do we do this? Something as simple as blood? Because my sister and I share pieces of the same DNA we share a bond. Because of we share parents, we are stuck together for life. Basic concepts however the other day I was just thinking, if there wasn't the blood and DNA holding family ties, would I ever stick around for those people I call family?
When did DNA gain the strength that it did? Is it a gift form God or created by society? My sister can call me more things than any other person on this planet but I love her more than anyone else. Parents put up there kids crap that they won't take from anyone else. Why? Is it because society teaches us that you have to care for your blood lines or is it more biological. Other animals give birth and leave their young on their own while others care for their babies for longer periods of time. Why is that? I don't think I'll ever really know this question until the day I can ask God in Heaven (assuming He let's me in). The concept intrigues me though. Family lines that the idea that we live through our children. Perhaps that's why we care for them as we do. To pass on our genes in the biological sense. Or perhaps it's rather we are following societal values and morals that tell us it's the right thing to do. Who knows.
