Cracked.
That's what happened to my little heart.
Nursing has taught me that it's not physically possible for ones heart to break,
However the crack is there despite the arguments of medical technology.
I feel it.
More and more bridges are built each day,
through each new risk and experience.
The crevice is beginning to become more concealed,
less prominent as the the gaps move closer together.
The terrifying expanse grows less fearful with every beat.
Yet its still there.
It's a part of me now.
Apart of my internal architecture.
I am not sad or bitter its there.
I look at it as a landmark.
One that is unique and tells a story.
My heart has a crack,
But I'm glad its there.
